Hi. I'm Manolis, the owner of Thea. I have been running the restaurant for over 20 years and, during that time, we have steadily acquired the reputation of being one of the most popular restaurants in Elounda. Situated on the main road as you enter the village, Thea takes pride in having customers from all around the world who visit us time and time again - testimony to the high regard in which the restaurant is held.
Thea is actually named after my mother who first introduced me to the intriguing world of cuisine and such was my interest that I chose to further my cullinary education at college.

Over the years we have succeeded in putting together an excellent and extensive wine list featuring the finest wines from Crete as well as a selection from mainland Greece.  Cretan wine production has evolved considerably over recent years and the Island can now boast wines of the highest quality whether from the vineyards of Sitia in the west or from Dafnes and Arhanes in central Crete. I will happily advise you as to which wine I feel will best complement your chosen meal.

Not surprisingly, we offer a wide range of traditional Greek cuisine and a selection of International dishes. Using only the finest ingredients and freshest produce, we have always endeavoured to ensure that our food is of the highest quality whilst, at the same time, being imaginative in both preparation and presentation. We are renowned for our choice of fresh fish and our flambé specialities. Also, if there is a particular dish you would like but cannot see on our menu, please ask and, with 24 hours notice, we will be more than pleased to prepare it for you. We generally open at 11 in the morning and remain open until late.

Thea restaurant is tastefully and elegantly decorated  and is particularly spacious - seating up to 170 people inside; and,with our attractive outdoor area, this can increase to well over 200 during the warmer months. We are, therefore, able and well accomplished in catering for any type of function whether it be a wedding, birthday or, in fact, any celebration, right from a simple, buffet-style meal to a lavish banquet.
